Major, Infantry
Major Robert Walter is a native of Stillwater Oklahoma. He was commissioned from the University of Central Oklahoma where he was a simultaneous membership (SMP) cadet with the 1-179th Infantry.
His duty positions held include: Rifle Platoon Leader, Reconnaissance Platoon Leader, Battalion S2, Rifle Company Commander, Battalion S3 Air, Brigade Assistant S3, Battalion S3, and Battalion Executive Officer.
His deployments include: Afghanistan in 2003-2004 with the 1-179th Infantry as an Embedded Trainer for the Afghan National Army, New Orleans in 2005 in support of the Hurricane Katrina relief effort as the 1-179th Infantry S3, and Iraq in 2007-2008 as the 1-179th Infantry S3.
Major Walter is married to Angela Walter and they have one daughter, Maggie, age 7.
