"The order, the self-discipline, the pride that had been instilled in me by ROTC was a tremendous companion to my basic liberal arts education and prepared me well for my Army career, or for that matter, any career I might have chosen." Secretary of State Colin Powell, former Chairman, The Joint Chiefs of Staff.
How to Enroll
College Students. If you are interested in joining Army ROTC and you are in college, you can start by taking an Army ROTC basic elective course. These classes are open to any student of any grade without any military obligation:
Juniors, Seniors, or Masters Students. If you have approximately 55-60 hours that count toward your degree or approximately two years remaining toward your undergraduate or graduate degree (hours and time varies depending on the degree), then you should visit the OSU Army ROTC enrollment officer in Thatcher Hall to determine which is the best class for you to enroll, explore your options, or customize a training development plan just for you. The following are Advanced ROTC courses for contracted cadets. These classes require instructor approval.
