How to Enroll

College Students. If you are interested in joining Army ROTC and you are in college, you can start by taking an Army ROTC basic elective course. These classes are open to any student of any grade without any military obligation:

MLSC 1000 Leadership Laboratory (Taken with either MLSC 1112 or 1212)
MLSC 1112 Fundamentals of Military Leadership
MLSC 1212 Introduction to Leadership
MLSC 2130 Military Physical Conditioning
MLSC 2233 Self and Team Development
MLSC 2313 Individual and Team Military Tactics

Juniors, Seniors, or Masters Students. If you have approximately 55-60 hours that count toward your degree or approximately two years remaining toward your undergraduate or graduate degree (hours and time varies depending on the degree), then you should visit the OSU Army ROTC enrollment officer in Thatcher Hall to determine which is the best class for you to enroll, explore your options, or customize a training development plan just for you. The following are Advanced ROTC courses for contracted cadets. These classes require instructor approval.

MLSC 3113 Leading Small Organizations I
MLSC 3223 Leading Small Organizations II
MLSC 4014 Leadership Challenge and Goal-Setting
MLSC 4223 Military Ethics, Justice and Professionalism
MLSC 4422 The Tactical Planning Process
