"The order, the self-discipline, the pride that had been instilled in me by ROTC was a tremendous companion to my basic liberal arts education and prepared me well for my Army career, or for that matter, any career I might have chosen." Secretary of State Colin Powell, former Chairman, The Joint Chiefs of Staff.
Did you know that OSU offers financial cash awards that can be used toward room and board to Army Green to Gold scholarship winners who choose OSU as their school of choice? (the number awarded fluctuates each year)
The Army Reserve and Oklahoma National Guard Simultaneous Membership Programs (SMP) is the most economically beneficial method of joining ROTC. The majority of our cadets are SMP cadets.
Students may qualify for tuition waiver or tuition reimbursement; the Pay Entry Basic Date begins the day the cadet signs the Guard or Reserve contract (not the day you are commissioned for everyone else); the cadet receives E5 drill pay AND the monthly ROTC stipend, as well as you may qualify for G.I. Bill benefits. Most importantly, you receive valuable officer internship experience in addition to your ROTC training.
Recruiters call us at 405-744-1775 for details regarding how we can work together to provide the benefits of ROTC to the Army Reserve or Oklahoma National Guard soldier who wants to go to college. OSU is a great place for the SMP.
